Border opened

We as human beings, have many necessities of life besides food. All such necessities have a price and man must pay for them with money. While money is only obtained from a job that people do. While the types of work done are various and not only in the country, there are even overseas. When the world was hit by a pandemic that caused many lives to be lost. Most countries have decided to close the border gates, including Malaysia. This has caused many Malaysians who work outside of Malaysia such as Singapore to be unable to return for almost 2 years.

A long period of time if having a family, however it is forced to stop the infection. Starting April 1, 2022, the Malaysian border gates have been opened for any activities. Maybe the border opened in conjunction with Malaysia's health status has changed from pandemic to endemic on the same date, Just my personal opinion.

Of course, every action taken by the government receives various responses from Malaysians, both from within and outside the country. Although the country's health status has turned to endemic, Malaysians still need to be vigilant especially from SOP compliance. In my opinion, as long as there are reports of deaths due to the virus, we cannot assume it is just a normal virus.

My neighbor was happiest when he found out that the border had been opened because 2 of his children worked in Singapore and 2 years did not meet because the border gate was closed. Hari Raya this time is definitely lively when her children who work in Singapore will definitely go home to celebrate with their loved ones.

One thing to keep in mind, when borders are opened, there are bound to be undesirable situations such as smuggling. When the border is closed, it is difficult for smugglers to bring their goods into the Malaysian market. When the border is opened, all the opportunities desired by the smugglers reappear. Also, I saw based on current reports of prime news. When the border gates are opened, foreign vehicle owners take the opportunity to fill their vehicles with subsidized petrol which is supposed to be only for Malaysians.

I hope the impact of opening the border is as expected by the government or the people of Malaysia themselves. Especially in terms of economic development of the country after we faced a difficult period for the previous 2 years.
