Economic recovery

Although the world is still facing the Pandemic problem that has claimed millions of lives. At the same time, we have to start drawing up the country's economic recovery plan in order to survive in the long term. In my opinion, the country needs the right recovery formula so that it follows the proper timeline.

Millions of people lost their jobs. For Malaysia, more than 800 thousand people had to become unemployed due to the Pandemic that hit. Therefore, prompt action must be taken so that the situation does not worsen. Unemployment rate is a variable that can affect the process of economic recovery of a country.

I personally think that the process of economic recovery in the country requires a period of 10 years to be completely stable. The year 2020, to me is like a year to reboot the economy so that when the Pandemic subsides, the country is able to plan something better for the country.

The government should reduce the dependence of labor from outside, again the issue of unemployment in the country has not yet reached the appropriate percentage. The labor force among Malaysians themselves is more than sufficient based on the existing institutions. Each of them produces a source of manpower that is able to meet the existing shortages, most importantly the government provides an affordable wage mechanism.

I do not deny the existence of a handful of people being lazy as said by the former 7th prime minister. But that does not mean the government should set aside the rights of other Malaysians, are in need of a job after the previous organization face financial difficulties.

Viral picture, a commercial airplane pilot who had to be laid off by the company, due to financial problems. now decides to run a small business to cover the family's financial costs. It is enough as proof that not all Malaysians are in the lazy category. Many are still willing to lower their egos in order to earn halal sustenance like the captain of the plane involved.

The government's efforts to help 800 thousand unemployed Malaysians cannot be completed within a month or two. So is the government's efforts in helping the SME sector. It takes a long time to recover as usual. Planning must be focused and thorough, so that no one is left behind in the planned economic recovery process. Budget 2021, is the first step in comprehensive recovery planning.

I am interested in this policy introduced before the Common Prosperity Policy Year 2030. I thought it was only slight improvement, the policy to guide the recovery process of the country in the last 10 years.

Perhaps the government can get ideas from a group of young leaders in formulating new formulas for national recovery planning. Any country at the moment, people must await assistance from the government, because they are elected by the people to help them when faced with a crisis such as now.
