Election Candidates

The 15th general election is approaching, each party has started to implement more aggressive work moves than before. In addition to this election, the number of voters has doubled compared to the previous one with most of them being voters aged 18 and over.

All the political parties have introduced their election candidates. Especially those contesting the general election of the Parliamentary area. There is something that caught my attention, when I saw the list of candidates who will contest and announced by their respective parties.

Almost all political parties put forward candidates from among young people to compete in the GE this time. So much so that several senior political leaders who are usually candidates for the general election were dropped by their respective political parties this time.

What are the factors that lead to such a situation? It is said that there have been rumors that there will be a change in the candidate's name before it is announced. However, many senior political leaders are taking a wait-and-see stance.

In my opinion, looking at this situation should be seen from a different angle. In the world of politics, a political leader who voluntarily withdraws from running is better than withdrawing by being dropped as a candidate by the party. For example, some political leaders who have announced that they will not run in the next general election to make way for new candidates.

The name of the candidate has been announced, now focus on the campaign, although I believe there are challenges especially for new candidates to gain the confidence of the people or party members themselves.

There are situations where the candidate introduced by the party for an area is a candidate who does not come from that area. It caused dissatisfaction among party supporters in the area. But that's the world of politics, not according to what is needed but rather what is desired by the highest party leaders who have the power to decide who will be appointed as a candidate for the general election.

In Ketereh itself, there was a change in the name of the candidate as happened in the Barisan Nasional party. The name that should be the candidate for the party is dropped and replaced by a younger candidate in the party.

I heard complaints of disappointment from the members of the party, including local residents who supported the candidate before when they found out that the leader who was usually nominated in the general election was finally dropped.

The election candidates have been announced, like it or not, that is a fact that supporters must accept. Now it is the turn of the people or the voters to make a choice, which candidate will be chosen on the ballot later?.
