Suicide

 Among the things that people often do as an excuse to run away from the problems they face is SUICIDE. An action that I believe in any religion at all, does not encourage its adherents to choose that path. The fact that human beings have to accept from an early age that this life is something unexpected and difficult.

Everyone is aware that Malaysia is now entering the second year of the pandemic. Currently, the government has to implement a total lockdown involving all sectors. As in previous years, this implementation must have had a very unfortunate effect, especially on low -income people. Many lost their jobs, lost their source of income. In fact, I think this year, the situation is worse because there is help give the government last year, do not do the same for this year.

Probably because of that, there are suicide cases among Malaysians. Even cases involving domestic violence are seen on the rise based on current news reports. This situation is a matter of concern because I think that the government should implement the assistance it deserves. If the salary of the Cabinet can still be paid. So why need a reason to help people in need ?.

During the state of the country before the pandemic, many Malaysians did various jobs. Even every married couple, both work to cover the rising cost of living. So much so that the children had to be left with their parents. This situation clearly gives a picture of how the situation of the people after the pandemic hit. The monthly rent of the house must be paid, the installment of the vehicle used to go to work must be paid, the utility bill must be paid. Although there is savings but is it able to cover the cost of living up to 2 years ?.

So it is not surprising that more and more people are suffering from depression. Financial problems faced, it is not clear how to solve. At the same time, the children started the school session from home. Requires a device such as a mobile phone or lap top which all involve the cost and ability of the parents to provide it.

In my residential area, it can be said that many of the residents work as carpenters. At this time, they cannot do their work as usual causing almost all of them to just sit at home waiting for help from the government to arrive such as money or daily necessities. They may not think about the monthly payment of a house or car or related things. But this life needs money and it must be earned through work. Then there are those who change their attitude to become irritable because of the current situation.

Everyone hopes that the country will improve. But it takes time as the situation is now more critical, the stress of life is increasingly unbearable, perhaps because of that SUICIDE is made an option as a way out for all faced. We can talk about anything about SUICIDE cases among Malaysians. The fact is that we should be aware that we are not in the situation of those who choose the path to SUICIDE. Assessing the act of SUICIDE will not solve the problem because surely many more will choose that option. All parties should try to help not just with words of encouragement because the world is now very difficult to find a FREE one and everything comes at a cost.

AKU PELAJAR PENGAJIAN MEDIA,

Walaupun telah lama aku tinggalkan Universiti Malaya, terutama Jabatan Pengajian Media, masih ada kenangan yang terpahat dalam ingatan. Pelbagai kisah tidak tercatat tetapi di coret dalam kamus hidup aku. Setelah melaporkan diri di Kolej Kediaman Ke-7, aku mempunyai tempoh 1-2 minggu untuk menentukan Subjek Major & Minor bagi melengkapkan Ijazah Sarjan Muda nanti.   Pada mulanya aku berminat pada Pengajian Hubungan Antarabangsa & Strategik sebagai subjek major.  Namun pada hari pertama masuk kelas pengenalan, lecture terus bagi assignment yang lebih fokus kepada undang-undang antarabangsa, membuatkan aku terasa takut sangat dengan beban bakal aku pikul nanti. Lagipun aku bukan dalam kategori pelajar pintar seperti orang lain. BAGAIMANA MENJADI TELEMARKETING?

Aku ingin kongsi pengalaman bekerja sebagai Telemarketing bagi sebuah Institusi Pendidikan di bandar Kota Bharu, seingat aku sekitar tahun 2008. Walaupun bekerja atas nama status kontrak, ia memberi pengalaman baru kepada aku, secara peribadi.Maklumlah budak pengajian media dari Universiti Malaya tiba-tiba jadi budak marketing. Apabila aku tamat latihan "on job training" di sebuah GLC yang base di Airports Subang pada tahun 2007. Aku mengambil keputusan balik kampung untuk menjaga ibu yang kini tinggal seorang setelah kematian abah. Aku mengambil inisiatif menghantar resume ke seluruh institusi atau organisasi yang dirasakan sesuai di sekitar Kota Bharu pada awal tahun 2008. Salah sebuah organisasi yang aku hantar permohonan terbuka telah menghubungi aku untuk hadir ke sesi temuduga yang aku tidak mengetahui apa jawatannya.
