School bag issue

The thing that is most synonymous with school students is definitely a school bag. There are various types of bags and it has also undergone a transformation from primary to secondary school. Its function remains the same which is to bring the textbooks and exercises needed every day at school. There is only one shortage of school bags in this country, especially at the primary school level, which is HEAVY. Primary school students ’school bags are very heavy and very inappropriate at that age.

The issue of heavy school bags is one of the issues that is never resolved. Only different reports are provided on this issue. When I was in primary school, I was also pressured by the issue of heavy school bags. I believe not all schools or education systems in the world are squeezed by the heavy school bag issue. Should this issue have been resolved a long time ago, I am now 40 years old, how long has this issue been talked about by the community. Why no significant effort before in solving this problem of heavy school bags.

How can a school bag be so heavy that it is burdensome for students to carry it ?. When I was in elementary school, I brought notebooks and texts based on the class schedule that day. Although it is said that the learning schedule provided is a flexible schedule, it still causes the number of books to be carried heavier than it should be.

It is understood that the Ministry of Education Malaysia will try to implement solutions to the issues raised. Even as I recall, this problem always failed to find a solution. I think primary school students in other countries, are not faced with this heavy bag problem. To me, the weight of a school bag can affect a student’s condition throughout the learning session. By logic, when a lot of energy is spent on carrying a heavy bag, it is able to reduce the focus of the student. But it’s just my theory simply because I’ve personally felt the burden of carrying a school bag. Probably because of that, most elementary school students like to have a large school bag so that it is easy to carry a lot of books.

It is hoped that the ministry of education this time will be able to come up with a complete solution to the problem of the burden of students' school bags. The fact is that a student's achievement is not in the value of how many books he brings but how high a student's level of understanding and thinking is. Maybe the textbook doesn't need to be brought home, leave it at school. While in terms of training, it is enough to submit a copy only. As a student at the University.

There are no more major assessment tests for primary school students. Therefore, it is very appropriate for the Ministry to minimize the use of textbooks. I agree with the suggestion that the school provide personal lockers to students, this is to enable students to keep their textbooks at school. I thought to myself, do students in aboriginal village schools also face the same issue ?.We often talk about revolution or transformation, then it is time for the national education system to undergo a transformation. Perhaps we can refer to other countries 'education systems regarding the management of students' reference books.

When I remember my situation when I was in primary school, then to secondary school and then to University. The load of notebooks or references is decreasing. Even when in high school, there were times when textbooks were not used at all. While at the University, sometimes only a pen and a notebook are brought. Perhaps the Ministry of Education should look into the use of textbooks in primary schools as well as teaching materials used during school sessions. I don’t want to see my children or students in the future still carrying school bags filled with heavy textbooks.
