THE PEOPLE OR POWER?

 A POLITICAL GOALS

The year 2020 is coming to an end. Various stories have been recorded. Among the most striking, of course, the Pandemic outbreak that affected the global economy and caused the deaths of millions of lives. However, it does not affect world politics at all.

When it comes to politics, I often ask myself. Are those who join this political world, aiming to help the people or gain the power they will have ?. I personally see that most of those who join politics are aiming for the power they will have. The people hope that every political leader who before gaining power, promises various things but in the end the promise is given a lie.

Have we ever met a successful politician, living in poverty ?. Arguably, almost 100% of successful politicians live in very comfortable conditions compared to the people. Something strange when I think back, but it may be commonplace in today's political world.

The situation of politicians is almost the same all over the world. They live very comfortably compared to ordinary people. If we read the history of the previous Islamic leaders, we will know that the former Muslim leaders, lived in poverty even though they were leaders. Why ?, they are involved in politics in order to help people, not for the sake of power.

It is said that the story of an Islamic leader, Caliph Umar, who every night, would patrol alone to see the condition of his people. He arrived at a tent where the voices of small children were heard crying. When greeted, a woman came out, then Caliph Umar asked why the little boy was crying. Apparently the girls involved were hungry and in the women's tent there was nothing to eat. Hearing the matter, Caliph Umar rushed to Baitulmal to take wheat flour from the storage place to be handed over to the woman involved. Without knowing that the man who gave the wheat flour was the leader of the country, the woman thanked and hoped that her leader would behave like caliph umar.

The fact that we should be aware that everyone is capable of saying will be the best leader before being elected. But once they have power, 80% of leaders will change because of the temptation in front of their eyes when they legally become leaders and have power. At the same time, leaders know that the burden that a leader must bear later will be very heavy in the 'padang masyar' later. But still want it, the human heart is easily changed, here is also 'Faith' in the heart and soul.

Words and deeds are different things. Everyone is able to speak, but not everyone is able to do what is said. Sincere political leaders will not ask for power, simply fulfilling what the common people demand. While the people are now able to assess who is the best to be elected as their leader later.

The effects of the pandemic are now being felt by the entire population of the world. Not only test for ordinary people but also for the country's leaders. Are their actions for the people or for power ?, we ourselves can easily judge them.
