 I come from the state of Kelantan, a state that has a different government policy compared to other states, especially related to entertainment. Until now, the state has not allowed any party to open a movie theater in Kelantan. It makes me a bit left behind in the world of entertainment referring to human needs at this point. Most noticeable when I first entered the cinema while studying in Kuala Lumpur.

Prostitution, before I only knew through local drama featuring the lives or prostitution. Until one day, I was taken by a friend to get to know the group when I was in one of the states in the west coast of Malaysia. A woman dressed quite sexy, wearing glasses was waiting by the side of the road. At first I did not know who the woman was until the car I was ride in approached her. My friend spontaneously asked the price, I initially did not understand the meaning of the question. Then simply answer RM50 for one round. Then my friend passed away, as if it did not agree with the price given by the woman. When a vehicle we were getting away from the area, I've been told the identity of the woman and it was very surprising.

In addition to prostitution, I was indirectly exposed to nightclubs, even though I had never been to the place. Just look at the picture of the place as shown in the local drama as well as the conversation of a student from Kuala Lumpur. I understand, carbonated drinks are more expensive than alcoholic beverages at nightclubs but I am not sure if that is true or not.

Friends who like to visit nightclubs, like to give the impression that the nightclub has everything a man dreams of. I can not be sure even if there are people who want to spend me go to a nightclub in Kuala Lumpur. Strangely enough, people are willing to pay to enter a nightclub but are lazy to enter the Mosque even if it is free. I know that many Muslims prefer to enter the desired Nightclub entertainment for the indulgences.

Then I was introduced to the new entertainment provided at the massage parlor center, I did not know more about it, just heard from the stories of the center's from regular customers that they will be entertained by women from various countries who will massage them or more.

I understand that getting a service at a massage parlor center requires a relatively expensive cost. But that is not an excuse for itchy or horny men who want to satisfy lust. It can be addictive for those who have ever had the massage service.

I understand that it is up to each individual to get the dark social entertainment on offer. But when it comes to forgetting responsibilities especially at work and family. That's something that is not acceptable, then I had met a woman who was used as a social medium of entertainment in order to get the project from a particular party.

It's just that I haven't met face to face individuals called call boys or call girls or social escorts as long as I've been in Kuala Lumpur or Putrajaya. I understood that they were a group that was in a world of different sides of entertainment.

That is the short story I know of the dark world of social entertainment in a society that is said to be more advanced.

AKU PELAJAR PENGAJIAN MEDIA,

Walaupun telah lama aku tinggalkan Universiti Malaya, terutama Jabatan Pengajian Media, masih ada kenangan yang terpahat dalam ingatan. Pelbagai kisah tidak tercatat tetapi di coret dalam kamus hidup aku. Setelah melaporkan diri di Kolej Kediaman Ke-7, aku mempunyai tempoh 1-2 minggu untuk menentukan Subjek Major & Minor bagi melengkapkan Ijazah Sarjan Muda nanti.   Pada mulanya aku berminat pada Pengajian Hubungan Antarabangsa & Strategik sebagai subjek major.  Namun pada hari pertama masuk kelas pengenalan, lecture terus bagi assignment yang lebih fokus kepada undang-undang antarabangsa, membuatkan aku terasa takut sangat dengan beban bakal aku pikul nanti. Lagipun aku bukan dalam kategori pelajar pintar seperti orang lain. BAGAIMANA MENJADI TELEMARKETING?

Aku ingin kongsi pengalaman bekerja sebagai Telemarketing bagi sebuah Institusi Pendidikan di bandar Kota Bharu, seingat aku sekitar tahun 2008. Walaupun bekerja atas nama status kontrak, ia memberi pengalaman baru kepada aku, secara peribadi.Maklumlah budak pengajian media dari Universiti Malaya tiba-tiba jadi budak marketing. Apabila aku tamat latihan "on job training" di sebuah GLC yang base di Airports Subang pada tahun 2007. Aku mengambil keputusan balik kampung untuk menjaga ibu yang kini tinggal seorang setelah kematian abah. Aku mengambil inisiatif menghantar resume ke seluruh institusi atau organisasi yang dirasakan sesuai di sekitar Kota Bharu pada awal tahun 2008. Salah sebuah organisasi yang aku hantar permohonan terbuka telah menghubungi aku untuk hadir ke sesi temuduga yang aku tidak mengetahui apa jawatannya.
